3 Virtual Games For Remote Workers: Top Games For Brain Breaks

virtual games for remote workers

Hello friends! Welcome back to my blog. I hope more sunshine, beautiful sceneries, and warm weather are in your area now that spring is here! As some of you may know, I have been working remotely since I got to the United States. I started doing freelance work, and have online businesses on the side (including this blog), and now I’ve added working remotely full-time. Sometimes, I need some time to relax, and unwind, which is why I’ve started searching virtual games for remote workers.

Brain breaks for work

My work involves a lot of creative and strategic thinking, so I often would pause for breaks to set my brain on “refresh”. Some of the things I do is go out in nature, listen to music, watch a video, or read something that isn’t related to my work. In addition, I’ve been playing online games to add some variety to the mix.

I discovered this website called Solitaire.org where I can play free and ad-free games. I love that most classic games are there, which took me back to the early 2000s when I would play on our Windows 97 PC, plus other fun additions. Below, I’ll show you some of the favorites that I play to relax during breaks.

Whether you’re a remote worker, an in-person office worker, or just want something for online recreation, here are some of the games you can enjoy at Solitaire.org!

Virtual Games for Remote Workers: Top Favorites For Unwinding

Solitaire

It’s a no-brainer, I love Solitaire! When I need brain breaks for work, I play a quick game of Solitaire to keep my mental wheels turning but with a shifted focus on something else. I remember I used to play Solitaire a lot when I was around 8 or 9 years old in our old computer shop with the Windows 97 desktop. I spent time in the afternoons understanding how it works before our shop closes. Solitaire brings back a lot of my childhood memories.

Minesweeper

I love the excitement of Minesweeper! When I was younger, I didn’t know what these numbers meant, I just thought of pressing the buttons and I just made sure to guess (and depend on my luck) to avoid any mine. However, I eventually understood that these were the number of mines that surround each button. I eventually won a game where I managed to avoid all the bombs! This is a game of play when I just really need something super quick to entertain myself, and it doesn’t require much focus. Avoiding the bombs makes the game very exciting (and rewarding).

Hidden Objects

At Solitaire.org, there are different themes you can play to find hidden objects. But my favorite one is the Medieval Castle Hidden Number Game. It reminds me a lot of the console games I used to play when I was younger. I played a lot of Medieval-themed games, and it just feels so nostalgic, like I’m enjoying peaceful afternoons eating cheese sandwiches after school, and unwinding with my cousins. It brings back so many of those fond memories of when I was still in that very intense gamer phase. Haha! 🙂

I hope these favorites inspired you if you’re looking for virtual games for remote workers or brain games for work. Don’t forget to check out the other games you might love at Solitaire.org!
